To address some of the issues confronting the industry, Vanessa commenced work on a much needed industry database, which she and her business partner, Claire Scott funded all by themselves.
This work was published with a few local directories as well as the 1997 "The A-Z Horse Industry Directory". This publication was well received with nearly 3,000 copies sold and was used as a reference by the Equine Studies students for many years.
The publication was about to go national when she was offered the position of Event Director for EQUITANA Asia Pacific.
